Criteria for entry

Entries must portray messages of peace and tolerance, showing images of courage and telling stories of people with the strength to confront those who aim to keep the horn of Africa mired in poverty and conflict. The images and stories should give voice to the people of the horn of Africa who see a better future for their people; a future without clan conflict, without war and hatred, without a false interpretation of Islam used to promote violence. A future with peace, stability, dignity and basic human rights such as access to food, health, education and equality.

Geediga Nabada a Somali dialect meaning the Peace Caravan is a neutral and apolitical tool that implements highly interactive community-based initiatives using theatre forums, poetry, art, culture, sports and religion to communicate sensitive messages with the Somali community. This is an effort to restore peace in the Somali region by building bridges through community reconciliation.
